Connecticut to Antigua - Friday 10/26/18

​It’s a little after 6pm on Friday night.  I’m 20 minutes into a flight from Denver to Hartford, Connecticut.  I just finished listening to a couple short podcasts from Marriage Therapy Radio, something Tara and I discovered recently and really enjoy.  To that end, what better way to spice up a marriage then leave your bride at home for three weeks to care for 4 needy children while you risk your life on a sailboat with total strangers in the middle of the Atlantic.  Like I said, we just discovered the podcast.
 
I’m trying to unpack all the feelings I’ve been having this week.  Tara continues asking me whether I’m excited for my big sailing trip.

I don’t want to cause Tara stress by telling her that I have these odd thoughts of mortality.  Like, what if this is it?  Now that I have a better sense of the danger in going offshore for days, I know that making landfall isn’t guaranteed.
